“PROJECT NEW SOCK"

Here’s the deal: *Foster kids need socks.
Here’s how you can help: *Send in a new package of socks.
This is a true story:
A foster child is a kid who does not live with their birth parents. Sometimes they are moved from foster home to foster home. Sometimes when they moved to a new foster home, the few things they have get lost or don’t move with them. Most of them do not have their own things so they rely on donations or used toys and clothing. I used to have a friend that was a foster child. She would visit our family and we would do things together. One day when I went to visit her in the hospital when she was sick, she wasn’t in her bed. Instead she was in the bathroom washing her socks in the sink. Her foster parents didn’t have a lot of money so they kept the money for food. Since they didn’t have a lot of money they only bought her a few outfits and 2 pairs of socks. She would wear one pair one day, wash it in the sink, and then wear her other pair while the wet ones dried during the day.
With your help, kids like my friend won’t have to do this. All you have to do to help is send in one clean, new package of socks and that’s one more kid that won’t have to go around bare-foot or have to clean their socks like my friend.
*Remember, these socks have to be new because imagine if you had to go around with hand-me-down socks. "Ewwww!!!" It’s like wearing someone else’s underwear. And I highly doubt you want to do that!
When all the donated socks have been collected, they will be donated to a place called Neat Stuff. Neat Stuff is a place where foster kids can get new clothing at back to school time and with your help, new socks too!
If you want to donate socks, you can either send me the package of NEW socks or a gift card for Kmart, Wal Mart, or Target and my mom will take me to buy the socks. Please send this link on to people in your e-mail list. Everyone who donates socks will have their name added to my SOCK DONORS PAGE.
