Point out dark clouds on a rainy day. Tell your child that there are different types of clouds for different weather conditions. While looking in the clouds, let them pretend the different shapes are different items.

Put out a cup of ice on a hot day. After a while, ask your child what happened to the ice. Discuss with them that the sun produces heat energy. That heat turned the ice to water. Put the cup of water in the freezer and the next day, discuss that the freezer changed it from a liquid to a solid.
