2007 Family Reading Night and Pajama Jam: Families were invited to the school for a storytime. Kids and parents came in their PJ's and read two stories. One they go to keep as a gift. Everyone enjoyed juice and homemade chocolate chip cookies. October 2007
2007 Halloween Happening Students took part in several Halloween activities...They decorated and filled bags with candy for homeless kids, decorated mini pumpkins, decorated muffins, participated in a Halloween parade, watched the Nickelodan Halloween! A great time was had by all. October 2007

FARM SHARE
Each week our friends at Farm Share send over fresh produce and other food like soups, milk, pudding and treats. Our classes take turns putting the food into bags and boxes and families who want the food are invited to take it home. Click here to see photo of the kids packing the donated food. Family Fun Day August 2005: This day of family fun was filled with crafts, a bounce house, snacks, and computer fun. Students had the chance to see the school and meet their teacher before the start of school. Click here to see photos from our Family Fun Day.
Helping Others: Our school teaches the principles of KIDS 4 KIDS INC. (www.kids4kids.org) We teach our students that they can change the world by their acts of kindness. Each month is dedicated to a project to help people who could use a little "pick me up".
In September 05, we collected 100 packs of diapers for Hurricane Katrina Victims.
In October 05 we filled 400 bags of candy for kids in a trailer park whose Halloween was cancelled due to loss of power from Hurricane Wilma. The kids who got our Halloween bags can be seen on the Halloween 05 album.
In November 05, our school provided a complete Thanksgiving meal and groceries for a week to an elderly disabled couple who had enough love in their hearts to take in three teen boys.

Parents Night Out: The last Saturday of each month, parents are invited to leave their children with us and go out on the town. Click here to see photo from Parents Night Out.
Career Day 2005: Upon completion of a two week study of careers, we were visited by a musician, police officers, a pizza maker, a hair dresser, a clown, and a member of the army. They taught our students about their careers. Click here to see photos of our 2005 career day.
Halloween Happening 2005: Students had a day of Halloween fun at our school. They rotated from room to room decorating cookies, mini pumpkins, making candy bags to donate to other kids, and watching Charlie Brown's Great Pumpkin. Thanksgiving 2005: Students spent a week learning about Thanksgiving. The culminating activity was a Thanksgiving Feast. Our school also adopted an elderly family for Thanksgiving who opened their hearts to 3 teen boys. We collected a ton of food for the family. Click here to see our Thanksgiving photos.
Computer Fun: In our computer lab, 12 students at a time learn using great software. Every child in our school ages 3 and up spend 30 minutes a day on their own computer. Each month, the software is changed. Some software has included Reader Rabbit, Dr. Suess Preschool, Language Lab, and Arthur's Math Games. Work and Play:
At our school students spend time at learning centers.
We also have an academic focus where students are enriched in reading, writing,
math, and science. Students participate in weekly cup cooking activities.

Octovianos Studio of Gymnastics October 2005
After School Tutoring Program: Three days a week, we offer an elementary tutoring and enrichment program. Following snack time, students in grades 2-5 spend an hour with a tutor and an hour getting assistance with their homework. Time is also given for computer useage. Hurricane Prep: Our dedicated staff works hard to prepare our school for hurricanes. Our students even help by filling sandbags from our sandbox! You will be amazed to see what we do each time a hurricane threatens. Click here to see Hurricane Preparation photos.
