Dear Parents of Red Door Students,

First, we want to thank the parents for the gifts to the teachers and want to ask everyone to remember one of our students, Joshua, who is in the hospital. We hope to see you soon Joshua!  We hope every one had a great Valentine's Day. A great big thank to Dylan's Mom for the great breakfast and also a big thank to our wonderful employer Mrs. Davis for the beautiful flowers.
The children were very busy doing different projects this week. We read  lots of books about Valentines and feelings.
We have some students out, we hope they will return soon!

Happy Birthday to Nicholas who will turn 2 years old this Saturday! Remember, the school is closed on Monday in observance
of Presidents' Day.
Have a great long weekend.

Dear Parents of Red Door Students,

The theme for this week was "Valentine's Day". We discussed the love we have for our family and friends. We looked and talked about our family pictures. We sang Barney's songs, especially "I love you, you love me" and the children listened to the poem"roses are red".
The children were able to play in all areas due to the rain. During Story time, the children enjoyed listening to the story "I love you because you're you, little kittens will always love you and hugs and kisses.
For their art projects, the children were really busy: they decorated the letter V, they made Valentine's cards and a lot of painting and coloring to develop their fine motor skills.
We hope each of you have a  joyful weekend.
With all our love,
Mrs. Emma, Grandma V., & Mrs. Mireya

Dear Parents of Red Door Students,

The theme for this week was "Farm Animals". During circle time, we introduced Farm animals to the children and gave them a chance to make the sound of each animals: the were very clear of the sound. We also explained which animal lived in the barn and which animals were just for the yard.

While we were outside, we could observe one of the children looking at the baby from Green Door drinking his bottle, then he said that milk comes form the cow.

On Monday we had Fitness: we continue running, jumping and throwing a small ball to keep the gross motor skill growing. They
also enjoyed music with Mrs. Michelle.

For Art, the children colored and painted a pig and a cow.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Mrs. Emma, Grandma V. & Mrs Mireya

Dear Parents of Red Door Students,

The theme for this week was "feelings". We sang the song "if you're happy and you know it" and we added more feelings such as sad, angry, excited, etc.. Each of the children followed directions and showed good listening skills.
For Art, they decorated happy faces to hang in the classroom.
The children ran and jumped and had Fitness with Ms. Crissie to help them develop their gross motor skills.
During circle time, they learned new words to strengthen their vocabulary such as "embarrassed" and demonstrated the feeling by drawing a face to identify each word.
On Thursday, they did music and movements listening to Cds in Spanish and English.

Have a great weekend.

Dear Parents,

As we celebrated Martin Luther King's Birthday on Monday, we spent the week discussing friendship and the way to behave with each other. During circle time, we sang songs and did finger play.

The children enjoyed doing their art projects: they ripped magazines in little pieces to promote fine motor skills; they decorated the letter M to represent Martin Luther King. They also painted in pink or brown a shape of Martin Luther King and finally, they colored with crayons the face of Dr. King.

On Tuesday, we went to Fitness to learn how to stay in a good shape (jumping, stretching,…). They are now able to follow Ms. Crissy’s directions and enjoy it. On Thursday, they sang with Mrs. Michelle and could hit a gong and heard his loud sound.

Have a very great weekend.

Mrs Emma, Grandma V., Mrs. Mireya
